Bits & Pieces

So I've been meaning to write a nice, insightful post on my feelings about the Sabres as of late, but I just keep putting it off, and there are too many points that I wanted to touch on. I feel if I attempted to write a post, it would just be way too long-winded and boring and I just don't have the attention span to write it, so I'm pretty sure no one would have the attention span to read it. So here a few little bits and pieces on what I've been meaning to blog about over the past few days:

- First, I have to welcome Raffi Torres to the Sabres. I don't know a whole lot about Torres other than the fact that he's now the highest scoring Sabre on our roster and that his last reminds me of a certain Spanish pastime. It's also a little sad because him coming to Buffalo means that he won't have many more opportunities to get interviewed by his twin brother reporter:

- I also have to bid adieu to Clarke MacArthur and Nathan Paetsch. I will miss Clarke's jew fro and now I can't compare MacArthur to my younger brother, who shares a striking resemblence to him (jew fro and all). I no longer have the opportunity to drunkenly approach him at Catwalk for Charity and tell him how much he looks like my brother only for him to respond by saying, "I know, you told me before." And Nathan, I'm glad he will be given an opportunity to get more playing time with another club (hopefully), because I have always admired his work ethic and I appreciated the fact that whenever he was inserted into the lineup he really seemed to give it his all. And from what I've heard from Lindy and co, he never seemed to complain about the fact that he saw so little playing time. It has to be hard for a player to always be sitting in the press box, only to be inserted into the lineup when there is an injury, so I've always had a soft spot for Paetsch and I wish him and Clarke nothing but the best.

- I went to Wednesday's game against the Capitals and I am more than a little peeved that my winning streak has ended, up until that game the Sabres were undeafeted when I was in attendence this season. The most entertaining parts of the game was crowd's standing ovation to Miller, and that I met up with several Sabres bloggers in between periods. It was also funny because I rarely see people I know when I go to Sabres games, but on Wednesday I bumped into so many people that I knew. I wonder if it was because it was the team's first home game since the Olympic break, so a lot more people made it out to the game. Although most games that I attend are sellouts anyways, so there goes that theory.

- That old feeling of "Here we go again..." is starting to creep in, so I've been avoiding looking up any stats or taking a peek at the standings. Hard to believe that with tonight's win over Philly the Sabres are again leading the Northeast Division with a few games in hand...what the hell?

- Ryan Miller shaved his beard and that disappoints me.

- How the hell did Emilio survive Project Runway's last elimination?

- I've never had the desire to get into any sort of physical altercation with anyone until I started working at my job. Today I was almost positive I was going to get into some fisitcuffs with a greasy haired, Walmart-loving white trash imbecile and some fat, mean spirited lady who was wearing her hair in pigtails despite the fact that she was pushing 50.

- I got a Tumblr! It will be a fun place for me to post things that inspire me, so follow me if you want to see a bunch of beautiful, wonderful photos of Marilyn Monroe.

Catwalk for Charity IV Recap!

My, my, my...what a night! I've got tons of great pictures and videos to share with you all... and some pretty funny stories as well. Let's get on it...

I'm kind of weird and I always get so nervous before every Catwalk...just because it's such a big event for me, being such a big Sabres fan. I'm a pretty reserved person by nature, so as much as I love to converse and socialize with people, I still get nervous around the Sabres. So I took some advice from my soon to be 16-year-old brother and had "some of that liquid courage", as he put it, and I had a glass of wine beforehand.

So I get to the Town Ballroom and everyone is all decked out in 50s attire...everyone looked so cute. I made sure to talk to Ryan, and I forgot how much of a lightweight I am...I was only on my second glass of wine and I was, how do you put it, maybe a little too friendly with Ryan. He's such a nice guy though, so he put up with me. Anyways, I told him how I went to The Refinery in East Lansing over the summer and how I was really impressed with the town and all that... we made small talk and I got my picture taken with him. It was funny because it was so early in the night and someone stumbled by and dropped their beer bottle and it made a real loud noise and Ryan shook his head and said, "Wow...already?" to Lalime (I think), who was standing by. Then the woman who was walking around with the golden retriever puppy went up to us and Ryan started holding the puppy so I had to get a picture! It was pretty cute.

Then I remembered that I was a woman on a mission... I forgot that I was on a quest to find out why Ryan got rid of his blog. So as he walked away I was like, "RYAN WAIT...I have a question." and I asked him why he deleted it. And he said, "Because we didn't win shit when I had it." I was like, "Yaa well...it was was so good!" I think he said something along the lines of that he didn't think it was a good place for him to clear his mind or something...I can't really recall. I asked him if maybe he would consider blogging after the Olympics and he was like, "We'll see how I feel." Maybe when the Sabres start winning shit he'll reconsider and join the blogosphere again...let's hope because his blog was golden.

We were standing right by the photobooth and I remember last year I wanted to get pictures with Ryan in the photobooth, but he was being bombarded by fans asking him to and he kept saying, "Okay, but this is the last one..." and then like 5 other people would go up and ask...sooo last year I didn't want to bother him because he was being nice even though he had to be up onstage. So this year I decided to jump on the opportunity before he had to be somewhere and before everyone wanted a piece of him. So being the nice guy that he is he went in the photobooth with me! I remember apologizing... I was like, "Sorry I'm not normally like this..." and he smiled and was like, "You're fine." I just felt like I was being so naggy haha...but I couldn't help it. Catwalk for Charity is sort of like my time where I can socialize and talk to him and the rest of the players. Plus when else am I going to get the chance to get photobooth pics with Ryan Miller. Answer me that.

Right before the auction, Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale came onto the stage and RJ was dressed in drag as a 1950s sock hop girl hahaha. It was a sight to see... My friend Michele won the bidding to have a wine tasting party with Ryan and the Goose...she told me that I could get in on that, so I'm pretty stoked for that. The fashion show, as always, was extremely entertaining and I took some videos of it. The players really seem to enjoy themselves on the catwalk and it's always awesome to watch the guys have fun.

After the fashion show I saw Ryan again and he was like, "Hey Caroline." and then I was like, "You're so precious!" and I hugged him and that liquid courage went into overdrive and I stood up on my tip toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek and then I kissed his hands. Jesus christ...poor Ryan hahahaha. It's so out of character for me, I can't believe I did that. I'm pretty sure I told him that I love when he has facial hair too... Good god, I'm sure Ryan is so used to being bothered by annoying girls, I just never wanted to fall into that category haha. Still shaking my head when I think about what I did haha.

Alright so now I saved the best story for last... Toward the end of the night I saw Tyler Myers and I went up to him and asked him if he remembered when he came into where I work and I told him how I thought his goal was sick. Then he goes, "Yeah I remember! I read it on your blog too!" and I was like, "You read my blog?!" and he said, "Yeah my dad sent me the link!" I was pretty floored when he said that. So if you happen to be reading right now, HI TYLER!

I was a little bummed that Mike Grier didn't really mingle around like the rest of the players so I never got a chance to talk to him... And Drew Stafford kept trying to convince me that some really tall dude was Tyler Myers. Tamara also told me that Stafford and Connolly bid 20 cents on the Patrick Kane jersey which is absolutely amazing. Pretty much made my day when she told me about it this morning.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot of stuff but that's all I can remember right now...and I don't want to keep you waiting for my pictures! Here is a link to my Flickr with all the pictures, and here are some of my favorites...

First up...my annual photo of me with Ryan:

Photobooth fun:

His smile couldn't conceal the bewildered look in his eyes...

The Gooooose

nice midriff...

I just love this picture!

Aaaaand...last but not least:

Hell yes. I also have videos up on YouTube. They aren't titled yet...but most of them are of the players strutting down the Catwalk. I got a video of RJ and Harry too when Rick was in drag, make sure to check that out as well.

"What's Gotten Into Marty Tonight?!"

Oooh, RJ...you always know how to make me chuckle. Seriously though, I was thoroughly enjoying Marty's cranky mood last night. It was pretty obvious he was in no mood to deal with Kaleta's shenanigans. I think they should just always keep a person like Marty mic'd up, because I really would liked to have known what he was saying to Kaleta when the two were hugging, dancing, or whatever you want to call it.

I also liked how Miller said in his post-game inteview that he'd be too busy laughing to be able to throw a punch in on Marty if they were ever to fight. There are few things I love more in this world than a goalie fight...and one of these days I'd like to see Ryan mix it up, despite him being reluctant to just because he's a skinny guy. But a Marty-Miller match up would just be hilarious...and it will probably never happen. I am confident when I say that I think Ryan would do some damage to his opponent regardless of his stature, just because we all know how crazy scary he can get when he's pissed off.

The best part of this picture is the reaction on the crowd's faces.

Anyways...I don't have much to say about last night's win...other than I'm just really liking how the Sabres react after a loss. Granted, they've only lost twice in regulation so far, and while no one wants to see them lose, in an 82-game season, it's going to happen. What I'm more interested in is how the team reacts to a loss, and so far it's been pretty reassuring.

It's another big weekend for the Sabres as they will take on the tough Philadelphia Flyers and another division rival, the Boston Bruins. What will be interesting is to see Enroth...Lindy hinted that he'll most likely see playing time this weekend if Lalime is still out. And with another 3 games in 4 nights scenario, it would be best to give Ryan a break. So far Enroth has been struggling in Portland, so it'll be interesting to see how he and the rest of the team fairs with him in net. Oh, and they better play "My name is Jonas" by Weezer in the beginning of the game, should he start against Philly...or whenever his first home game start should be. It just has to happen, ok.

OH and before I forget...I finally took some pics of myself in the dress that I'm wearing to Catwalk for Charity this Sunday. Ch-ch-check it out:

Sooo naturally I'm pretty damn excited for Sunday...I'm getting my hair done to complete the Marilyn transformation. Here is what the original dress looks like, incase you don't remember.

Ahh...so Ryan Miller gets a shutout, the Goose scores, Marty decides to go all berserk on us for a little bit, and I'm going to be getting my Marilyn on with some Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. All is well.

Rebels with a Cause...

More details about Catwalk for Charity IV have been released, along with these glorious pictures. Aww yeah...I just realized that my last three blog updates have consisted of amusing pictures of some of our favorite hockey players... (Speaking of which, the Team USA pictures that I posted earlier have made their way on HF Boards...and hilarity has ensued, and it's still going on. Check it out for yourself). Anyways, individual tickets for Catwalk go onsale October 12th. As most of you probably already know, it's 50s-themed this year, and the event is cleverly marqueed as "Rebels with a Cause"...get it? Like the James Dean movie, but they HAVE a cause because it's a fundraising event...yeah, I'm sure you needed me to explain it. I have to say that I approve of these pictures, and it should make for another entertaining night to see the guys all dressed up like these badass greasers...hellz yeaahhh. I also love the cars that took part in the photoshoot. Cars from the 50s just had a certain style to them that just screamed "cool". I remember a few years ago my dad's friend who collects cars picked me up in a 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville...I felt so awesome driving around in that baby.

So I'm pretty excited to dress up for this year's Catwalk...I know I have to get my Marilyn on and I WILL. I've already mentioned that I have a vintage 1950s cocktail dress that I am most likely going to wear, but wouldn't it be awesome if I could find a replica of this number?

It's from her film, Niagara, which was filmed in our very own backyard in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I would LOVE to find a replica of that dress somewhere online, but I also love my cocktail dress that I already own. Either way, I'm really excited to represent my lady. I wonder if I could get her famous walk down? Maybe after I have a few drinks in me, who knows what I could accomplish!

So I hope that everyone who is reading this who can, will attend. If my recap of last year's festivities won't convince you then I don't know what will...

So today between classes I went to training camp again and I stayed as long as I could for the scrimmage until I had to head back to Buff State for my good ol' drawing class (which was kind of a rewarding and frustrating class at the same time). I was pretty impressed with the turnout given that it was a weekday...more people started showing up towards the start of the scrimmage. I'm thinking about going to training camp tomorrow but that would mean that I would have to skip my Art History class... What say you? Art history or hockey? Hmm, such a difficult decision. I guess the Venus of Willendorf is just going to have to get by without me. When I left today, Team Khmylev was up 1-0, and from what I've read they won the scrimmage 2-0. Tomorrow I'll upload the pictures I took, I promise! The hockey will get a little more "serious" tomorrow when the Sabres play some preseason hockey against the Caps... even though it's only preseason I'm still excited. I'll get to hear Rick Jeanneret calling a game again. Plus, the regular season is only 17 days away now... Are you ready??

...looks like our captain is.

Helloooo, Mistah Grier

In my last post I said that it would probably be a long time before I could update again discussing any Sabres news. Well color me happily surprised. I've said before that it's a long offseason and that there was still plenty of time for the Sabres' management to make another move...and I think they have successfully made a move that will both be beneficial to the team and very pleasing for the fans.

When I got a text alert from the Sabres last night, I had to re-read it about three times before I finally believed it was true. Grier? No way! I was pretty surprised considering he didn't have a lot of nice things to say about the organization when he departed, but that all appears to be water under the bridge now. Grier was definitely one of my favorite Sabres when he was with us and I was extremely disappointed when he didn't return to the team. I never would have thought that he would have came back to the Sabres...but here he is, crawling back to us begging for us to take him back. That was my attempt at being cocky, ok. I'm not very good at it as you may have just gathered. Anyways, I'm thrilled to see that he's back with us and I'm really liking the direction that the team is headed in the offseason. The team has added more grit and physicality and I am hoping that some of our players matured over the offseason and will be better for it next season.

I feel like I should mention this before I say anything else, but I will not be commenting on Pat Kane's arrest due to personal reasons. I don't really feel like I have much else to contribute to the whole situation anyways, considering the story has made headlines in more places that Pat would like to think about. Everyone's opinion on the arrest is already out there so I don't feel lke mine really matters. So that's that.

In other news, one of my readers, Chris sent me a video of the Goose being interviewed on a local Portland TV station. A highlight in the interview is him talking about his golfing "skills". A big thanks to Chris for giving us a Goose fix!

Speaking of hockey players going all PR on us, Ryan Miller was the Grand Marshal at Watkins-Glen for the Crown Royal 200 where he promoted his Steadfast Foundation and gave details about Catwalk for Charity IV. It's 50s-themed this year...as I have mentioned before on here I'm a sucker for anything vintage (basically anything between the eras of the 20s to the 70s), so I'm pretty excited. I already have a real vintage 1950s cocktail dress that I think I'm going to wear. I wore it to one of my homecoming dances when I was in high school and I did my hair to resemble my homegirl Marilyn and I got many flattering compliments where people were saying I looked like her. I'm definitely going to pay homeage to my favorite lady again and do the Marilyn look again at this year's Catwalk. I'm going to have to pull up my collection of thousands countless pictures I have of Marilyn to get some inspiration on how I'm going to look. I'm sure there will be people there doing the whole Marilyn thing, but I'm going to try and be a little different. There's more to Marilyn than a white billowing dress being blown up by a NYC subway breeze. Even for last year's Catwalk, I was able to get a little bit of Marilyn in my look by wearing a hidden flask in a garter belt to go along with the 1920s speakeasy theme. In one of my favorite Marilyn movies, Some Like It Hot, she wears the same thing since the setting is during the 1920s Prohibition days. So that was my Marilyn inspiration...this time around I'll be able to do even more since the 50s was during Marilyn's prime as a movie star. One thing that got me nervous though was the details on Sabres.com about the event, it said that if all tickets sell through sponsorship sales, then no individual tickets will be available. I would be saahhhh upset if it sells out before individual tickets go onsale...I look forward to this event every year.

Anyways...I just returned to Buffalo after spending some time in Chicago for Lollapalooza. Lollapalooza is a huge 3 day long music festival that Chicago has hosted for the past 5 years and I went for the first time last year and I was hooked. There are always huge headlining music acts along with smaller acts throughout the day. It's a great music festival in a great city. I saw Kings of Leon the first day and I had never seen them live before. They blew me away. I have seen them peform live on TV before, so I knew I was in for a good show, but being there in person is a completely different experience. Along with Kings of Leon, my other favorite acts that I saw were the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bon Iver, Chairlift, and Santigold. I met a lot of really great people from all over while I was there. I'm talking like people from Portugal, Mexico, Spain, and Ireland. It's crazy that they come all the way to a music festival...but it definitely is worth it. My friend who I went to the festival with also had a gift certificate to The Refinery that she won at a previous Catwalk for Charity, so we stopped in East Lansing on our way back and I got a really cute dress and a cardigan. I uploaded some videos I took at Lollapalooza incase anyone is interested. Here is a video of me just walking around the festival, it shows you how big it is and how many people were there. And here is a video of me leaving the festival on the second day. Buckingham Fountain is in the second video and it's amazing...my video of it doesn't do it justice.

So now I'm back home but I leave again in a few days to spend some time up at my cousin's cottage. I'm so excited to hang out on a boat all day...as long as the weather cooperates. This summer has been really sketchy weather-wise...but I guess that's Buffalo for you.

Happy Birthday, Marilyn

This has nothing to do with hockey, but I wanted to make a post wishing my favorite lady a happy birthday. Some of you may or may not have caught on that I am a pretty big Marilyn Monroe fan. Today would have been her 83rd birthday.

I've been fascinated with Marilyn for as long as I can remember, and it was because I was captivated by her beautiful face. I've always been very interested in the "golden age" of Hollywood, so it makes sense why Marilyn has always been so intriguing for me. I'm a sucker for anything vintage and basically the time periods from 1920-1960 have always been my favorite eras in American history, and that's exactly when Marilyn lived. She was born in 1926 and she died in 1962.

I guess I would consider her my idol, and a lot of people always ask me why. I think nowadays Marilyn is only viewed as the sex symbol that made her famous. She's there to look beautiful and be sexy. But my adoration goes beyond the "Marilyn Monroe" facade, and I admire her for who she was as a person. Obviously I could never truly know Marilyn on a personal level considering she lived before my time, but after investing a lot of my time in reading books on her life and just researching her, I really feel as if I can understand the type of person she was. She wasn't perfect, but no one is and I find that endearing. She made mistakes and did things that I don't agree with at times, but that's not to say that she wasn't a great woman. She was dealt with a hard life and she was a very vulnerable and sensitive woman and I feel a lot of people exploited that and took advantage of her because of this.

I know a lot of people will only see Marilyn as a woman who liked to sleep around and who developed a drug habit. I think these people just don't know enough about Marilyn to see who she truly was. After all, she's hasn't been alive for over 45 years, so it's hard for people to defend her name and it's easy for people to conjure up stories about her life. I know pretty much everything there is to know about her, and I almost feel as if it's my duty to defend her name and show her for who she really was.

I could probably write a book about how I feel about her and why I admire her so much, but I'll keep it simple. Marilyn was more than a beautiful face. She was a sweet woman who adored children and animals. She was sensitive and vulnerable and I think what she wanted most out of life was to be appreciated. She adored her fans and her public and she didn't want to let them down. She often told her friends to hold a good thought for her, and I hold a good thought for her every day.

Her charisma has captivated people for many decades and I still love watching her act in movies and pose in front of the camera. Her sweet face and voice always makes me smile. In honor of her birthday, I'll probably watch Some Like It Hot or Gentleman Prefer Blondes. If you haven't seen any movies with Marilyn, I'd highly recommend those. The Seven Year Itch is also a good one, and it features the famous subway scene.

LIFE magazine has also announced that more than 300 "new" photos from one of my favorite photoshoots of hers has been discovered in their archives and they will be made available to the public early next year. It's funny after all these years how there are still unseen photos of her emerging. I can't even imagine how many photos of her there are out there that I have yet to see and probably will never see. The camera loved her.

When I heard about the news of these new photos, I felt pretty much the same way that this little girl feels in this picture:

Hey...what do you know, I tied in hockey with this post. Okay, not really. I love hockey!!! There, now it's officially hockey related, right?

So happy birthday Marilyn, you truly were a special lady.
Coincidentally, it's also my late dog's birthday too. Jasper was a great dog and he was 17 years old when we had to send him on his journey. He was a great companion until the very end.

Disappointment in Chi-Town

Ehhhh. What a friggn let down. I was all excited for this game, WHY? Beats me. The Sabres started off well and scored the first goal, but then we give up two and the momentum swings the other way. We gave the 'Hawks and their fans life. Especially after that pathetic 6 minute power play. I think the 'Hawks had more shots and chances during that time. How nice. Lalime could have been better, that's for sure...but the loss is not all on him. He's not the reason that the skaters in front of him couldn't bury their chances or score on the aforementioned 6 minute power play. I just hope that Ruff does not lose his faith in Lalime, because we cannot ride Miller for the rest of the season and expect him to continue to play like he has. He needs to be rested if we want him to perform like he's capable of. I hope Lalime plays in one of the games in Florida. So what about Stafford's hit on Duncan Keith? Yay or nay? Dirty or clean? A lot of people think it looks a lot like the Drury hit from Neil back in 06-07. Ben Eager thinks it's a dirty hit. The difference between Stafford's hit and Neil's is that Drury's hit was late and there was a high elbow involved. I don't think Drew's elbow was high.

Sekera is out with a lower body injury and Lindy said that he might be out for awhile. I guess the positive to come out of that is it means that Butler will be able to remain in the lineup without being scratched or having to be sent down to Portland. I really hope that the Sa
bres haven't become too complacent with winning on the road, because then they're going to start to coast and think that they can take nights off.

So tonight the team is facing the Dallas Stars. They've struggled and have faced some adversity this season, between the disaster that is Sean Avery and Marty Turco having a hard time finding his groove. But after the Stars cut things off with Avery, the
y've seem to be a better team...go figure. But Turco is still having a hard time so hopefully the Sabres can exploit that and capitalize on that. Maybe then we won't have to sit and listen to another post-game interview where various members of the team say, "We have to bury our chances." or "We have to be better."

I had a nightmare last night that the Sabres lost to the Stars 9-4. But since it was a dream it was a little more bizarre than a normal hockey game. We were playing at home and we were down 9-0 but we "rallied" to score 4 goals. It was terrible. I was so relieved to wake up and realize that I just had a bad dream. I wonder what the Sabres dream about after a bad loss? Or do they even sleep at all?

Well, what most females do after they're bumme
d over something is go shopping! I'm going to the Galleria in a little bit to do some ~serious~ shopping. And by serious I mean I am looking for a dress for Catwalk for Charity. I've seen a few that I've liked online, but I figured I'd take a look around some stores at the mall before I go ahead and buy one online. Ladies (and gents), you have no idea how excited I am to dress up for this event. 1920s glamour is so fabulous. I am going to try my best to pay homage to my favorite lady, Marilyn Monroe. She played the loveable Sugar Kane in Some Like It Hot. One of my favorite movies. It's a classic. It's considered one of the best comedies of all time. It's about two musicians who witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1929 and they flee town because they're being chased by the mob. They join an all-female band and they disguise themselves as women. That's where they meet the beautiful singer Sugar Kane and they both fall for her. They try to earn her affection all the while trying to maintain their cover as being two women. It's a very cute and hilarious movie. Marilyn as always looks beautiful and her 20s get ups are beautiful and glamorous. Now if only I could have an Oscar winning costume designer make me an outfit for Catwalk, but that just isn't in the cards now is it, baby? I'll still try my best to represent my homegirl...I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Beautiful :')

Oh, and it appears that Carey Price will be unable to participate in the All-Star Game due to a nagging ankle injury (take that, you whacky ballot stuffers Habs fans). That means there's a third spot open for a goalie (Tim Thomas and Henrik Lundqvist are the two reserves). Could Ryan Miller get the invite?

Getting Sassy...20s style

I have nothing to say for last night's shit show. As a fan there's only so much you can say. It's up to the team. They're better than that. I don't know why they are struggling to win at home. It's disappointing, but all I can say is bring on Los Angeles. If they can win against them then maybe it will spark some confidence and help them win at home. If not, well...there's only three home games in January. You're not supposed to look forward to the month where you're basically on the road the entire time, but maybe it's a plus for us. We shall see.

In other news, let's talk about Ryan Miller and the five goals he gave up last night. First off, he updated his blog. Don't you love that fans actually give him advice on how to stop pucks? I know I do. Really people? You know, if you're 10 years old then it's kind of cute, but if you're any older then you really need to stand back and realize what you're doing. An average fan telling a NHL goalie how to stop the pucks and be better. Right. I'm sure he appreciates the advice.

Secondly, Catwalk for Charity III....hells yeah. I sent in my order form for tickets a few days ago so hopefully I get an e-mail or something soon saying that they got my form and my tickets will come shortly. How awesome is it that it's 1920s themed this year? REAL AWESOME. That will be a lot of fun. I love the 1920s. I've always said that I wish that I lived through the 1920s-1960s because that's when all the cool stuff happened. My favorite fashion eras have always been the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. So maybe I just wanted to live in those eras strictly for the fashion, okay? And for my chance to meet my favorite person in the entire world, Marilyn Monroe. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, Catwalk for Charity. I can't wait to shop around and look for a cute outfit for the event. Peacock feathers may or may not be involved. I've made myself a cute hairclip from a peacock feather that I love and since it's 20s themed it will be a perfect opportunity to whip it out. It's a little more "earthy" than 1920s glamour, but I can spruce it up a tad. You can head over to Sabres TV and watch a snippet of the press conference...I don't know why they didn't post the whole thing, I want to see it. Maybe they'll post it later.

Anyways, hopefully some of you plan on going to the event...it really is a lot of fun. I think I've talked about it before on here. If you want to get an idea of it, I have some pictures that I took when I went last year. They're kind of grainy because I just had my point and shoot camera and the lighting was dark. But you get the idea. Funny thing is, after doing some searching on the internet I've found some pictures of the event with me in them haha.

This one was in the paper, I cut it out and I have it pinned up on my "Photo Wall" in my bedroom. That's how I roll.

It's like playing Where's Waldo Caroline!

Anyways. Hopefully the Sabres are getting sick and tired of getting pushed around and having their asses handed to them on home ice. Let's see how things go tomorrow night...
